FROM THE PRESIDENT
1. The Openings: For those of you who were able to attend last weekend, you know it was a good turnout, and good music and good food. Good sales too. We exceeded the combined opening weekend sales of Wide Open 3 and last year’s Spring Show.
2. Good Day Street Talk: Great news – Terry Urban and Jon Bunge will be on the morning talk show discussing BWAC and our recovery from Sandy damage. The show will be aired Saturday, May 25th, 6AM on Channel 5, but can be viewed online (when the station posts it) by going to www.myfoxny.com, then searching for "Good Day Street Talk”.
3. New Series: Readings in Red Hook is a new series we’re having this season where local authors read their segments from their work. It will take place on the second Sunday of each show, often with musical interludes. This Sunday the theme is Zone A, about Sandy experiences.
4. BWalk is such an important part of our fundraising. Chair Jon Bunge writes: "Hi everybody, so far I have five walkers for the BWalk on Saturday, June 15, at 10:30 a.m. It would be great to have more walkers and raise more money for BWAC. We've had a lot of fun in past years, so please consider joining us! We'll leave from the steps of BAM and walk three miles to BWAC, making several fun art stops along the way. If you're interested in finding out more, please contact me at jon@jonbunge.com or 718-809-9885. Thank you."
Enjoy!
John
