The Cumulative Weight of Existence

BWAC presents The Cumulative Weight of Existence, a solo exhibition by BWAC member, Daniel Genova, in our first-floor gallery. The show dates are Saturday, March 27 – Sunday, April 18, 2021. The socially distanced opening reception will be Saturday, March 27 from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. There will be a closing reception on Sunday, April 18 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. The gallery hours for this exhibition will be 12:00 – 6:00 weekends during the duration of the show or by appointment (718-832-6143). In keeping with state guidelines, face masks are required in the gallery at all times.

Daniel Genova states: “Putting this exhibition together was a tremendous challenge as well as a labor of love. I was concerned not only with the strength of individual pieces but how well they related as a group and presentation. I wanted to create a sense of continuity yet variance at the 

 realize that I am not an artist that is concerned with a specific ‘style.’ Although I have ‘theme-same time… not an easy task. I think as you view my work you will soon oriented’ work, one ‘series’ has a life expectancy and gives way to another. I try to remain honest with myself and flow with the changes. I want my art to reflect a wide range of human thoughts and emotions. No day is the same. Why should my art be? As for my means of expression, I draw from the vast wealth of materials that this great planet has to offer, both natural and man-made. Paint is good for one thing, whereas twine or glass another. I think it is important not to limit yourself.
