Drift was created in the interval — on a particular Israel Independence Day when the ground beneath remained undecided. During the current ceasefire between Iran and the Israel–American bloc, the citizens of Israel move through their days holding their breath: suspended between peace and war, between continuation and collapse, between a country's past and a future it cannot yet name. They wandered the streets, between terrible loss and hard-won independence, — finding themselves, instead, adrift.
